The current DWR archive confirms 190 rows for June 1–11, 2024, but it does not support the commonly repeated claim that the same 2025 window had only 76 rows. In the archive as checked for this article, June 1–11, 2025 shows 197 rows, while June 1–11, 2026 shows 183 rows.

Why anglers may have felt a slowdown

Row count, fish totals, stocking dates, and species mix do not always move together. Early June 2026 shows many fewer channel catfish rows and many more tiger trout rows than the prior two seasons, which can make stocking feel slower for some local pond anglers even when statewide activity remains substantial.
